There are two kinds of settling: good settling and bad settling.
I hear so many women say they thought they were “settling” for someone who wanted to marry them… only to later discover he was still on dating apps or that they ended up financially supporting him.
That’s bad settling.
Bad settling is choosing someone because of attraction while ignoring whether they can actually show up as a real partner.
Attraction can only get you so far.
Good settling is choosing someone you genuinely enjoy, trust, and feel emotionally safe with — even if he’s not as tall, wealthy, or conventionally attractive as your toxic ex.
Physical attraction can grow.
Respect, partnership, and emotional support matter far more in the long run.
No one ends up with a perfect spouse. We all make compromises. The key is compromising on things that won’t impact long-term happiness.
Don’t sacrifice being treated well just because you think someone is hot.
